Pulp

Pulp: Overview

Pulp is made from responsibly managed plantation-grown timber and is manufactured at our Kinleith and Tasman Mills, both located in the central north island of New Zealand. The combined market pulp capacity of both mills is approximately 530,000 tonnes per annum.

Whilst the Kinleith Mill focus is on bleached radiata pulp for Asia, the Tasman Mill produces a range of both softwood (radiata) and hardwood (eucalyptus) specialty pulps through targeted wood segregation and the utilisation of two digester fibre lines.

Tasman's target markets are New Zealand and Australia for bleached pulps, with fibre cement pulp being sold on a global basis. Our manufacturing operations are certified to the ISO 9001 international quality standard.

Our pulps have the following advantages:

  • Fifty years of manufacturing, research and development experience.
  • The favoured lower-cost alternative to Canadian or Scandinavian bleached softwood kraft pulps (NBSK).
  • Made from plantation-grown radiata pine and eucalyptus.
  • Environmental leadership, including ECF bleaching and FSC Mixed Sources Chain of Custody certification for a range of pulp grades. Please click on the FSC graphics below for copies of the Tasman and Kinleith certificates.
