Tasman Mill
I've been at Tasman for a year on the graduate training programme, as a process engineer in the technical department. Our team is a young team and offers technical support to optimise process performance to the mill, pulp mill operations, environmental team and capital projects team.

As part of my training programme I spent time in each of the process areas, seeing what went on and meeting the people. This was a good introduction to the process and excellent for meeting people to answer future questions!

Day to day work here involves a lot of different projects in different areas. We get involved in both the operation side through trouble shooting and optimisation, and also provide process engineering for capital projects.

There's the opportunity to get involved in many different areas not just on the pulping side but also the associated services like the on site- steam plant, chemical plant and the waste water treatment plant.

At the moment I'm working on some mass and energy balances, and looking forward to starting some process modelling training and becoming more involved in chemical preparation projects
