Pulp: Overview

CHH Pulp is manufactured from responsibly managed plantation-grown wood at our Kinleith and Tasman Mills, both located in the central North Island of New Zealand. The combined market pulp capacity of both mills is around 570,000 tonnes per annum.

Whilst the Kinleith Mill focus is on bleached radiata pulp for Asia, the Tasman Mill produces a range of both softwood (radiata) and hardwood (eucalyptus) specialty pulps through targeted wood segregation and the utilisation of two digester fibre lines.

Tasman's target markets are primarily New Zealand and Australia for bleached pulps, with fibre cement pulp being sold on a global basis. Our manufacturing operations are certified to the ISO 9001 international quality standard.

Our pulps have the following advantages:

  • Over fifty years of manufacturing, research and development experience.
  • The favoured lower-cost alternative to Canadian or Scandinavian bleached softwood kraft pulps (NBSK).
  • Made from plantation-grown radiata pine and eucalyptus.
  • Made using the Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) bleaching process.
